Artesania Rinconada is a Spanish name which means “Art of the Corner” or “Corner Art.”
The name derives from Jesus and Javier Carbajales
who began designing the Rinconada figurines in a corner of their home.
Artesania means “art” and Rinconada comes from the word “Rincon”
which means “corner” describing the type of art.
Artesania Rinconada figurines are individually hand carved from a flat mold.
Making each piece unique and distinctive from others of it’s kind.
After they are carved, they are kiln fired.
The next step requires each piece to be hand-painted.
Each piece is then fired for the second time.
The Classic designs require these two steps.
However, all Silver Anniversary and De Rosa Box Figurines
are fired a third time to obtain the 18 karat gold and platinum paint accents.
